36 cm YOKO doll

This beautiful doll, inspired by a distant "Waldorf", took around 2 weeks to complete. Her face and bust have been patiently needle-felted in pure organic carded wool. Her limbs are firmly stuffed and shaped. Yoko can stand with a little help, and leaning against a wall or piece of furniture, she sits perfectly. This doll has the proportions of a 4/5-year-old girl, with bouncy cheeks! Her hair, made of natural fibers, is patiently sewn onto her head, stitch by stitch. She's dressed in white underwear, wide-legged Aikido pants and a black linen kimono. I embroidered the kimono using the Sashiko technique. Yoko has a second kimono, in Japanese fabric. Her headdress, inspired by the traditional hairstyles of Geisha apprentices, was made in micro-crochet and I stitched it with crocheted flowers too. The headdress is removable, and can be replaced by two other flowery barrettes matching the second kimono. This doll is wearing crocheted sandals. This precious doll should not be entrusted to a toddler, but is destined for older children and collectors. Yoko measures 36 cm.
